Paul Mescal All Previews for Movies and TV Series
Mescal has become an Irish actor. He is known for his role as a lead in the miniseries *Normal People*, in which he earned a Primetime Emmy nomination.
Before starting acting, he was a Gaelic football player at the under-21 level for County Kildare and a member at Maynooth Football Club, in the defender position. His ex-coach Cian O'Neill commented on Paul Mescal as "very mature for his age. He was physically very strong. He was an excellent scorer." Following a jaw injury, Paul was forced to give up Gaelic football.
That year, in 2017, he graduated with a BA in Arts from Dublin's Trinity College University.
Two years later, in 2019, he started acting with an appearance on a pilot episode of the television series *Bump*.
In 2020, Paul Mescal secured his initial lead roles. He acts as Connell Waldron in the series *Normal People* with co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones and portrays Sean McKeogh in the series *The Deceived*.
In 2021, Paul Mescal acts in his first full-length movie, *The Lost Daughter* by Maggie Gyllenhaal, where he plays an Irish beach attendant at a beach in Greece.
By 2023, he was nominated in the Best Actor category at the Oscars for his leading role in the feature film *Aftersun* by Charlotte Wells. He also landed the principal role in *Gladiator 2* by Ridley Scott, filming of which is due to begin in June 2023.
